Is there a way to limit the information that can be entered in a database field to a defined set of choices, so typo's and inconsistent notations can be avoided?
Answer:
From BioNumerics (and GelCompar II) version 5.1 on, Field states can be defined for an information field. In the main window, click on an information field header and select Database > Information field properties. In the dialog box that appears, the field states can be set. If you check Restrict content to states, the information that can be entered in this field is restricted to those pre-defined states.
